I Started Tae Kwon Do some 4 years ago gaining my 1st Dan black belt in 2009 was a fantastic feeling .I can only thank Mr Carter and all the other black belt who over the years have always be so willing to help and encourage me . Everyone has different ability but the one thing that I’ve learnt is if you always give a 100% then Mr Carter will get you to your goal and on the way you’ll loose weight, gain fitness and have a lot of fun which is never a bad thing .

Thank you P4TKD

Nigel 41, Jane 43, Samuel 15 and Ben 6

Nigel and Samuel started Tae Kwon Do in Sept 03, Jane followed in July 04 after giving birth to Ben.

Ben has now joined and has already started competing in competitions. We have won many trophies in both patterns and sparring. We started training at the Lutterworth club and were inspired and encouraged by all the club members.

Tae Kwon Do instils a sense of discipline, a strength of mind and body and friendships are formed.

Through Tae Kwon Do we all have found a new confidence, you don’t have to excel in sport to do well, you just need commitment and determination. It was a fantastic feeling when we got our black belts and you feel really proud when your child achieves this award. Nigel and Jane are now 2nd Dans and Samuel is working towards his 2nd Dan later this year Tae Kwon Do is not just about how much you can get from it but also how much you can give back to the Club and to the TAGB. We have been officials at local and national tournaments and have also helped on the medical side. We also help with teaching, having gained the assistant instructor award.

I’m sure we wouldn’t have reached our black belts if there weren’t a senior grade willing to pass on their knowledge and experience.

Thank you to all who have helped us, especially Mr Carter.

We started Tae Kwon Do as a family just over 2 years ago with Mr Carter. It has helped us gain our fitness, strength and learn a new skill together. We have all benefited from this sport, it has also allowed us to spend time as a family and we would recommend it to anyone.

We were made very welcome, and were pleasantly surprised at how friendly and helpful the others members of the class were, making the decision to join, a more enjoyable experience. Since joining our daughter has also started training, and we all get a buzz from the classes. Both children have developed a new found confidence and the disciplines instilled have also helped them develop and achieve more in school. Mr Carter is an excellent instructor and always comes up with new training ideas for strength and fitness, these compliment the core skills taught in Tae Kwon Do.

We have also Won medals in patterns and in sparring, What better way for a family to enjoy a Marital Art and time together but also achieve a personal benefit at their own level.

Thank You

I started training with Mr Carter 5 years ago, after having a little interest in Martial Arts, from the first lesson I was hooked and have not looked back since.

Two and a half years later my eldest daughter joined, and has now progressed to red tag, having won a few medals for patterns along the way.

My 6 yr old twins then joined last year and have gained a lot of confidence in themselves through participation in competitions, Grading and general class work.

I have now progressed to 1st Dan black belt, and hoping to achieve 2nd Dan later this year, which is something I would never have expected to do 5years ago.

Mr Carter and his senior black belts go out of their way to make everyone welcome; regardless of age or ability when they start, and I can honestly say in 5 years of training no 2 classes have been the same, which makes studying Tae Kwon Do with Mr Carter always interesting. The benefits I have gained through my training are, improved fitness, flexibility and self confidence.
A great way to get fit, meet and make some new friends and spend time with my children doing something we all enjoy.

Thank you

Streets Family – Graeme 37, Samuel 9, Harvey 7 and Elliot 6 Kenilworth club.

In August 2007 we approached Mr carter as Samuel wanted to try a martial art, Samuel and I duly attended a class and were warmly welcomed into the class. At the end of the session Pat asked Samuel if he had enjoyed it, to which Samuel replied yes, Mr Carter then asked if he was going to come back, again Samuel said yes, Pat the asked if Samuel was going to bring his Dad, again the answer was yes, queue the face of one shocked parent ……… I’m now very proud to say that in just over 3 1/2 years I was tonight awarded my 1st Dan Black Belt, Samuel has also progressed through the Tae Kwon Do ranks and both he and I hope that he will be taking his Black Belt in April 2011 with Harvey and Elliot following in due course.

For me personally Tae Kwon Do has helped me loose weight and gain fitness, it allows me to, twice a week, spend valuable time doing an enjoyable activity with my family which I feel is very important in today’s modern, rushed society, it has also given me confidence at work and also socially and is installing a sense of discipline in the boys which I hope will stay with them as the grow up.

Thank you Mr Carter and I look forward to training towards my 2nd Dan Black Belt and passing the knowledge that you have given me, onto the other students.

I started Tae Kwon Do three and a half years ago to try and get fitter and make new friends. Over the years, Mr Carter has pushed me really hard to get fit and as a result, I have just passed my black belt!.

When I started, all I wanted to get out of Tae Kwon Do was to make new friends and to get fit, but now I have got my black belt, I have gained so much more, like a sense of achievement.

Thanks Mr Carter from Cameron

Godden family – Carl 40, Jonathan 8

I’d thought about getting my kids to do martial arts from a young age. With the discipline, respect and humility involved I thought these would be a good qualities to instil in them from a young age. On a visit to the local Sports centre in Kenilworth I found out that there were Tae Kwon Do classes being held on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. I phoned the number on the poster and spoke to Mr Carter. When discussing some of the class details on Jonathan’s behalf he asked me if I fancied a having go as well, I was easily persuaded.

Our first lesson together saw Jonathan not wanting to join in at all, initially I thought it wasn’t going to work however there was absolutely no pressure from the instructors and he was allowed to just watch. One lesson out of the blue the offer of kicking some pads finally got him from the sidelines where he got up and started joining in. He hasn’t looked back and has rapidly grown in confidence

Several weeks ago he competed in his first tournament and obtained a bronze medal in the sparring, one of my most nerve racking and proudest moments, he was over the moon with his trophy and medal. His ambition is to become a black belt hopefully at the end of next year then work through his Dan gradings to one day become a master!.

As for me personally I couldn’t touch my toes when I started, but under the wing of Mr Carter and some top class training partners I’ve won several tournaments at both regional and national level. I can’t wait for each training session and will carry on as long as my body lets me!

P4TKD caters for people with a variety of aims, from losing weight, improving flexibility, strength and general fitness to becoming world-class fighters, this is one of the best instructors to train under.

Karen Philips 5th Dan 50 years.

I started training with Mr. Patrick Carter to get myself fit whilst learning to look after myself, that was 16 years ago and I have achieved all that and so much more!

My confidence grew whilst building, not just physical strength but mental strength too.

Mr. Carter teaches you to become the best you can be, so much so that I found myself competing all over the country and abroad!!!.

Not something I would ever have dreamed of all those years ago.

At my last grading I was privileged to be promoted to 4th degree black belt ( not bad for then 45!).

I am a qualified referee/ umpire and a Tae Kwon-Do instructor. None of this would have been possible without the, experience of Mr. Carter and his dedication to the Art

The clubs are all very welcoming and we all still remember those first steps into the Dojang, but age, fitness or ability should be no barrier. Everyone who attends, adults and children alike get something from the classes and i would highly recommend attending at least one class, it’s great.

Here’s to my 5th Dan
