Brief insight into your Tae Kwon Do:
I started training with Master Sheppard in Hereford when I was 12 years old. I remember being made to work really hard in my first lesson and I was hooked straight away. Much like Master Carter, Sheppy was always happy to have a laugh as well as put your through your paces and make you sweat for every second of rest. From around blue belt, I started going to sparring and fitness sessions on a Friday night as well as the main classes, and this had a massive impact on my fitness, sparring and general technique.
I took my 1st Dan in April 2013 and my 2nd in April 2015, shortly before heading off to university. At uni I threw myself into the Tae Kwon Do club, helping to instruct and running the club as Captain. Without having trained at Hereford beforehand, I wouldn’t have had the fitness, technique or confidence to do any of this. What’s more, Tae Kwon Do gave me some amazing friends that I’ll stay in touch with for life.
I started training with Master Carter at the Kenilworth club in September 2019 and felt at home straight away; Pat and the club made me feel really welcome and have continuously pushed me to develop and become better. Over the past decade, TKD has given me fitness, confidence, great friends and amazing memories. I’d like to say thanks to Pat and everyone at P4TKD, for welcoming me to the club and giving me their time and patience in training when I slip back into Welsh ways! Can’t wait to see what the next 10 years of training brings...
Mr Carter
Thank you Tom for your insight to Tae Kwon Do.
Tom came to our club from world Master David shep. And I can say that its not often you get other students from other clubs with such a high standard. But me knowing shep and had a lot of battles together I expect nothing less.
Tom fitted into the class straight away and loves a bit of banter which we need. The only thing we have to sort is his kip when teaching lol.
Very technical and it has also made my students up there game as it should be.
I hope you with us for a long time and don’t get moved with work. You have a lot to Give and when we are all back will get you involved more in teaching some of the students when you can.
Thank you Tom World Master Carter 7th Dan
